Research.
The purpose of this research is to investigate the current socio-economic, political, and cultural dynamics that challenge the liveability of minorities in northern Iraq. The focus starts with recent cases of land grabbing in the autonomous region of Kurdistan in Iraq, to extend the investigation to other unseen peculiarities affecting the presence of local communities.
Objective.
The study will serve as a testing ground for future field research with specialized actors. The discoveries aim to be translated into critical mappings that will be published in a booklet form. This collection will provide additional evidence for experts, activists, and the public to obtain a holistic account of the situations experienced by local communities. The research will build on events reported by local activists and organizations through scientific research. The long-term objective is to develop such a research group with the participation of academic institutions through annual workshops.
